When configuring Netsuite, one should always consider how to consume data. Within Netsuite you will have multiple users entering details on orders, customers, and processes. The big question is, "how can I leverage these details to make informed decisions?" One reporting feature that can assist with this is called a KPI (Key Performance Indicator). An example of an underutilized dashboard portlet is the Financial Overview KPI portlet. This portlet is a great starting point that can provide insights on how your current business is performing from a financial lens.
We have the ability to create comparisons among multiple KPIs over multiple date ranges or accounting periods. Below is a recent example of a KPI implemented at one of our clients. The client wanted to ensure they had a healthy Working Capital ratio and wanted to see it in comparison to past fiscal periods. By using saved searches, we were able to quickly configure this data point in 30 minutes.
